Patricia LoRusso, M.D., D.O, is the director of the Early Phase Clinical Trials Program and Associate Center Director of Experimental Therapeutics at Yale Cancer Center and joined Zai Lab’s Scientific Advisory Board in 2024.
Dr. LoRusso brings to our Scientific Advisory Board significant expertise in oncology and clinical/translational research. Dr. LoRusso is currently a practicing oncologist and researcher at Yale University’s Cancer Center. Prior to this, she served for 25 years as director of both the phase 1 Clinical Trials Program and of the Eisenberg Center for Experimental Therapeutics at Wayne State University’s Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Dr. LoRusso has conducted early-phase clinical trials for more than 30 years, supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)/National Cancer Institute (NCI) for the past 28 years. She has played a role in many service disciplines at the NCI and served on the Investigational Drug Steering Committee since its inception and as a past chair.
Dr. LoRusso has also served on the Board of Directors and numerous scientific and education committees at the American Association for Cancer Research, where she currently serves as immediate past president. She has also been a member of several education and scientific committees of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the steering committee for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Accelerating Anticancer Agent Development and Validation Workshop.
Dr. LoRusso received her D.O. and Ph.D.(h) from Michigan State University and completed her residency at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital and fellowship at Wayne State University.
