Elegrobart (VRDN-003) (IGF-1R)

Overview

Elegrobart is a potential best-in-class, subcutaneously administered anti-insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) antibody for thyroid eye disease (TED). As a full antagonist of IGF-1R, elegrobart targets a clinically and commercially validated mechanism of action that has been shown to be highly effective in treating TED. Elegrobart is currently being evaluated in two global, Phase 3 pivotal clinical trials for patients with active and chronic TED.

Elegrobart offers a differentiated patient experience through an infrequent, low-volume, self-administered, at-home therapy, creating the potential for it to become the subcutaneous treatment-of-choice for TED. This subcutaneous regimen is designed to improve patient convenience and experience compared to the currently available IV options.

Under its license agreement with Zenas, Zai Lab obtained a sublicense to elegrobart from Viridian and is conducting a standalone Phase 3 study and a pharmacokinetic (PK) study in China.
